Haiti Medical Trip

Three months after the earthquake in Haiti, six Cutco reps flew to Haiti to help in relief efforts. They chose to support Angel Wings International in its efforts to bring medical care to the people of Haiti. Since that point in time, representatives across North America have come together to help support the mission of Angel Wings.

Service Day in Miami

October 2010, over 100 Cutco CSPs flew to Miami Florida to help Angel Wings organize medical and basic relief supplies, and helped to construct benches that will be used in Angel Wing's medical clinic that is being constructed in Haiti!

Who is Angel Wings International?

Angel Wings International(AWI), is a USA 501c3 charity that provides medical relief to the distressed people of Jacmel, Haiti. AWI has been providing medical relief since 2007, and has treated over7,5000 people since its founding.

What is this clinic Cutco reps are building?

Great question, you can read more about it at the bottom of this page. The model is really cool!

What is the current status of the construction?

You're on a roll! Scroll to the bottom of the page to see how far we've come since 2010!

Who will staff the medical clinic?

That's what's really unique about AWI! AWI has a long list of doctors and nurses from the USA and Canada who have been treating their patients in Haiti since 2007! Once the clinic is opened, these doctors will be able to treat more people, more efficiently, at a higher level of care. As well, these doctors will be working with Haitian doctors and medical students to teach them high level skills. So...the clinic will be serving as a medical training center and will employ Haitians who wish to work in the medical field as doctors, nurses, clerical staff, translators, and facility care personnel.

What is the "Pave the Way" program?

Well, this is where it gets really exciting. Over the past 16 months, Cutco reps have helped Angel Wings to get to a place that they only need $50,000 to open the clinic's doors! To help make the final stages of fundraising fun and rewarding, a Cutco rep suggested that AWI start a fundraiser where reps and offices can donate a set amount and in return, a brick will be engraved with that rep's name, or office's name, and the brick will be placed along the pathway the Haitian people walk as they enter the clinic. In a way, every brick will be wishing the people of Haiti good health, and remind them that what they went through has not been forgotten by the rest of the world. Pretty cool huh?

How can my office get a brick with its name on it?

We're glad you asked! Getting a brick with your office's name on it is as easy as putting up a donation jar in your office and putting your spare change in it. We're sure your customers would love to hear about what you and your office are doing as well, so you can download the prospectus piece, print it out, and throw it in your blue book to show them. If they want to donate, throw the donations in the jar as well. In fact, you should take them to this webpage so they can see what you are doing! Once the jar is full, your office will more than likely have raised the $1000 needed to get a brick with its name on it. And...you can be proud of being part of something that is bigger than yourself this year!

Is this a charity Cutco or Cutco reps started?

Nope! In fact, AWI existed long before Cutco or Cutco reps knew anything about it. Cutco has helped out many charities over the years (American Heart Association, The Front Row Foundation, and many others), but as far as we know, they have not started one. Angel Wings just happens to be the one that sales representatives got excited about, and decided to bring to the attention of Cutco. It really is a grassroots effort by Cutco reps themselves, to give back to humanity by raising funds to build a medical clinic in Haiti.

Pave the Way

March 2011, Cutco reps come up with the idea to help "Pave the Way" to the medical clinic by starting a brick raiser campaign! The goal of the campaign is to raise enough funds to open the doors on Angel Wings' clinic in Jacmel, Haiti!

Hey, how do I get one of those stickers for my prospectus?

Just click on the link and download it! Ha, just kidding. You can't download a sticker silly. Just tell your manager you want to help raise funds for the medical clinic and he/she will give you one. Now how is that for easy? We hope you have fun, helping others and being part of a very big project that is going to save thousands of lives!

Thanks so much-AWI
