Angel Wings is run by these selfless volunteers

 

Our founders and board oversee all major initiatives for our medical efforts in Haiti. From improvements to the clinic to medical missions in remote parts of the country, these folks ensure healthcare is delivered to those who need it.

  • Myrlande Affriany, RN

    FOUNDER / PRESIDENT

    Originally from Haiti, Myrlande started her career as a Registered Nurse at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, and subsequently practiced as a surgical intensive care nurse at MD Anderson Cancer Hospital. In the years since, her career has encompassed medical case management and home health.

    Myrlande drives the vision for Angel Wings International to provide health care and education for the people of Haiti.

  • Andy Jeanty

    FOUNDER / VP OF OPERATIONS / CFO

    A Haiti native, Andy runs Angel Wings’ logistics, operations, fundraising, and clinic/hospital development. In High school, Andy tutored people from 5 years old to 60 years old, teaching them how to read, write and math. He has always had a passion for bringing hope to others.

    Andy came to the US at age 19 and graduated magna cum laude from Florida International University with a degree in Management Information Systems and Finance. Andy speaks four languages: English, French, Spanish and Creole.

  • Carl Drew

    FOUNDER / DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

    When the earthquake of 2010 hit Haiti, Carl stepped in to mobilize supplies and people to provide medical aid to Haiti.

    Carl is a certified EMT and Wilderness First Responder, and has been honored as a Paul Harris Fellow for "service to others" from Rotary International.

  • Muriel Clermont

    EXECUTIVE SECRETARY

    Muriel grew up in Haiti, and moved to the U.S. to help provide an abundant life for her family. She administers AWI’s customer service, record keeping, and sponsorship scouting.

    She is full of life and passion, and has a great compassion for not only helping Haiti, but for helping people in general.

  • Tami Haliniewski, MD

    MEDICAL COORDINATOR & ASSISTANT SECRETARY

    Dr. Tami Haliniewski, served as a nurse for AWI shortly after the Haiti earthquake of 2010 and has been a dedicated volunteer ever since.

    Tami frequently makes herself available on short notice, or when urgent medical needs arise.

    She currently practices Emergency Medicine in south Florida.

  • Taylor-Max Ricart

    DIRECTOR OF ADVOCACY

    Taylor-Max joined AWI in 2017 after his first trip to Haiti. A few years later, he donated his kidney to Andy Jeanty who was in need a transplant. Taylor-Max started as a donor in 2011 and today he helps behind the scenes with fundraising and special events.

  • Heather Drew

    ASSISTANT TO DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

    Heather joined us on one of our first medical relief trips after the earthquake of 2010. She is the one who introduced one of our most influential patients to the team and that patient and his life threatening illness created a spark that ignited the passion and drive to build the Angel Wings Medical clinic.
